Research Lead / Principal Investigator

Grief Coach is searching for a passionate and experienced, part-time Research Lead to guide the company’s work to measure how text-based grief support can assist grievers and supporters.

The Research Lead will work hand-in-hand with our Director of Community Operations and report directly to the CEO.

As Grief Coach’s Research Lead, and the first person to hold this role, your responsibilities will be both strategic and hands on. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute a research plan including deciding methodology and techniques for conducting research
  • Select or develop research instruments
  • Assist with identifying related research
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Co-author reports and submit across various research constituencies
  • Partner with universities and corporate partners
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
  • Understand category-specific landscapes and trends


  • 5+ years’ experience
  • Proficient with data analysis software
  • PhD
